Sigmar Willnauer

Willnauer studied industrial design in Brunswick and Long Beach. Willnauer spent four years at frogdesign, USA and a further four years as co-owner of the design office “That” in San Francisco, where he worked on the design of Apple Macintosh products. He spent five years at Goods in Berkeley developing and marketing furniture and lighting collections. He is an Adjunct Professor at the California College of the Arts, a design advisor to Robert Bosch and Miele, and has an ongoing research project “Shelter for extreme users”. In 1997 he was appointed as Professor for Product Design at Hochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd in Germany, with an emphasis on the development of products under the influence of sociological and ecological factors.
