Cairn Young & Robin Platt

Robin Platt and Cairn Young created their design firm Platt + Young in 1991. A native of South African, Robin Platt studied furniture design. Cairn Young, born in California, did his studies in architecture at Kingston University.
They established their studio in the south of London, in the backyard of a former horse stable. It was in this yard that they developed their first furniture. Their early work was for Grupo T in Spain, Cidue and Sawaya & Moroni in Italy, and later they began designing Driade. Platt & Young have also designed many pieces for the German manufacturer.
