Julian Brown

British born designer Julian Brown relocated to Austria after completing his master’s degree in industrial design at the Royal College of Art. Although he had previously worked at David Carter Associates, it was at Porsche design in Austria that his design gained international attention. In 1986, at age 31, Brown founded a freelance design Studio with Ross Lovegrove. Lovegrove and Brown Design Studio complete projects for clients such as Louis Vuitton, British Airways, and Knoll International. Four years later Brown broke out on his own to form Studio Brown.
Brown’s relationship with manufacturer Rexite, began in the early 1990’s with the award winning design for the Vercingetorige alarm clock. Brown’s playful, yet functional designs for Rexite office and home accessories have continue to gain him international success. Brown has received the ID Magazine Award in 1998 and the Good Design Award in 2000.
