Since founding his practice in 1964 in Princeton, New Jersey, Michael Graves has been a leader in architectural design. His most well known projects are the Humana Building, a corporate headquarters tower in Louisville, Kentucky, Disney’s corporate headquarters in Burbank, California, hotels and other projects for Disney, the Denver Central Library, and the NCAA Headquarters and Hall of Champions.

A native of Indianapolis, Graves received his architectural training at the University of Cincinnati and Harvard University. In 1960, he won the Rome Prize and studied at The American Academy in Rome, of which he is now a Trustee. Graves has been teaching at Princeton University since 1962 and he has also served as a visiting professor at other Universities. He has received 13 honorary doctorates and is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, as well as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. His firm, Michael Graves & Associates, currently comprises 100 people and works on projects in the architectural, interior design and industrial design fields.
