The design was created with the idea of assembling hypothetical offcuts of steel wire, welding them together in order to form a series of containers; a mat, basket, citrus basket and centerpiece bowl. Each piece in the Blow-Up family is hand-made and unique.

Humberto Campana & Fernando Campana founded Estudio Campana in São Paulo in 1983. Humberto is a self-taught artist with a degree in law, and
Fernando has a degree in architecture. They are inspired by the
streets of Brazil and often combine low-tech materials such as cardboard, rope, fabric, wood scraps, bamboo, and aluminum wire with high-end craftsmanship. The Campanas’ breakout design, the Vermelha chair
manufactured by edra in 2007, is their best seller. Their limited edition Sushi Chair is highly collectible and has broken auction records. in 2008 they received the Designer of the Year Award at Design Miami. Works by
the Campanas have been represented in galleries and are in the permanent collections of museums throughout the world including the Design Museum in London; the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris; the Museum of Modern Art and the Cooper Hewitt, National Design Museum in New York; and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
